Got Questions? We’re Here to Help

Are the courses self-paced?

Yes, absolutely. All of our Continuing Education courses are 100% online and completely self-paced. You can log in, pause, and resume your coursework whenever it fits into your schedule. You have unlimited access to the material from any desktop, tablet, or mobile device.

Are there any prerequisites for these courses?

Most of our individual CE courses do not require specific prerequisites and are open to any licensed healthcare professional, medical assistant, or student looking to expand their knowledge. However, if a specialized advanced course does require a foundational credential, it will be clearly noted in bold right at the top of the course description page.

How long do I have to access a course after purchasing?

Once you enroll, you will get instant access to the course.  You get 12 months of full access to the course materials and any updates made to that curriculum. This gives you plenty of time to complete the modules and download your certificate.

What happens when I complete a course?

The moment you finish the final module and pass the post-course assessment, your certificate of completion is instantly generated. You can view, download, or print your certificate directly from your student dashboard.

Are these courses board-approved for CE credits?

Yes. Regan Career Institute is an approved provider for laboratory sciences, vocational nursing, and other medical training. Each course listing clearly displays the provider number and the exact number of CE hours/credits approved by the respective licensing board. Always double-check your specific state board's renewal requirements to ensure alignment.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover).  We also accept Paypal transactions. All transactions are securely processed and encrypted, and you will receive an itemized email receipt immediately after purchase for your employer reimbursement or tax records.

Can I get a refund if I’m not satisfied with the course?

We want you to be completely satisfied with your learning experience. However, our online courses are considered Digital Material: Like most digital test-prep providers, once online practice exams or course materials are accessed or launched, they are generally considered "used" and become non-refundable.  Otherwise, we offer a 14-day refund policy for courses that have not been completed or accessed. You can contact support to request a full refund. Because certificates are issued instantly upon completion, completed courses are non-refundable.

How can I get technical or academic support?

We are here to help! If you experience any login issues, payment hiccups, or have questions about the curriculum, you can reach out to our dedicated support team by:

  • Email: cesupport@rci.edu
  • We typically respond to all inquiries within 24 business hours (Monday through Friday).

I finished the course but my certificate didn't generate. What should I do?

Our system tracks your progress down to the second. If your certificate isn't appearing, ensure that every single lesson topic has been marked as "Complete" and that you have clicked the final button on the quiz or evaluation module. If it still doesn't generate, email us and we will manually verify your progress and clear it for you.

Are these CE courses approved by California Laboratory Field Services (LFS)?

Yes. Our courses are fully accredited through department-approved agencies CDPH LFS. Under California regulations, 1 contact hour of an approved course equals 1 California continuing education hour. Upon completion, your certificate will display all required licensing data—including the provider's accreditation number—making it fully audit-compliant for your state renewal.

What are the annual CE requirements for my specific California license?

Because CDPH LFS mandates annual renewals as of 2026, you must complete your specific hours within the 12 months immediately preceding your renewal submission via the online PERL (Personnel Electronic Renewal and Licensing) system.

The requirements vary by discipline:

License TypeDisciplineRequired CE Hours (Per Year)Notes / Details
CPT ICertified Phlebotomy Technician I3 HoursMust include topics relevant to phlebotomy practice and safety.
MLTMedical Laboratory Technician12 HoursBroad laboratory science topics or discipline-specific modules.
CLSClinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist/Specialist)12 HoursMust be from an approved agency; required for all general and special certifications.

⚠️ Important Note on the 2026 Transition: Even if your physical or digital LFS certificate still reflects a two-year expiration date due to state IT upgrades, the state now requires annual fee payments and documentation of the annual CE hours listed above.

Can I use the same CE course for multiple California licenses?

If you hold multiple active credentials (for example, a CPT I and an MLT), a single CE course can be applied to both renewals only if the subject matter directly fulfills the scope of practice requirements for both disciplines. Most students choose to take distinct modules to ensure full coverage during state audits.

Whom should I contact if I have questions about my state application status or specific licensing paths?

  • For questions about your course, certificate, or dashboard on our website: Reach out to our team at cesupport@ce.rci.edu. We can resolve any platform or certificate issues.  We can only answer questions pertaining to our courses and/or website.
